Alderman Gilbert Villegas has spent his entire career serving others. Since being honorably discharged from the Marines, he has served in government, non-profits and for profit companies, each time successfully bringing new opportunities to businesses and employees. He plans to use his experience in each of these sectors to serve as a strong member of the City Council and bring strong leadership to the new 36th Ward.
Alderman Villegas has been elected Chairman of the new Veteran Caucus in City Council! The caucus was formed to focus on issues that impact our American heroes like homelessness, employment discrimination and housing opportunities. The Caucus is made up of 6 Alderman, all of whom served in the Armed Forces, the members are Alderman Villegas, Alderman Santiago (31st Ward), Alderman Taliaferro (29th Ward), Alderman Burke (14th Ward), Alderman Solis (25th Ward) and Alderman (12th Ward).
